If you don't know where you are going, any road will get you there. ~ Lewis Carroll

Friends of Geography

Friends of Geography (FOG) is the Geography Department student group at Portland State University. Membership is free and open to all students interested in broadening awareness and knowledge of geography. FOG serves as a forum for student events and interests including field trips, social events, and fundraising through map sales. FOG also facilitates communication between department staff and student body by providing student representation at faculty meetings and various department committees. General meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month during the academic year.

FOG is a recognized chapter of Gamma Theta Upsilon (GTU), the international honor society of Geography. As a GTU chapter, FOG supports increasing geography knowledge and awareness through a variety of events that are open to the public. Students interested in joining GTU need to meet academic requirements and engage in a service activity. Please contact a FOG representative for details.

Map sale

The FOG map sale on April 22, which was rescheduled at the last minute due to dismal weather, still raised $250 for next year's FOG activities.
